“The DCSO Armed Services Division keeps the Sheriff’s Office moving. They must coordinate inmate court appearances, hospital posts, as well as general and special request movements. Their finely-tuned coordination keeps our inmate population where they are supposed to be – when they are supposed to be there.”~Sheriff Daron Hall

The Armed Services Division performs a variety of duties in support of the Sheriff’s office and other agencies such as both the Davidson County Criminal Courts and General Sessions Courts, the US Marshal Service and the Metro Nashville Police Department,. Some of the duties performed have included:

Offender Transportation

Transporting offenders to scheduled court appearances under the supervision of Courthouse Security

Members of Courthouse Security take individuals into custody for outstanding warrants or by judicial committal

Transported offenders from counties throughout the state to make a court appearance and returned them following their court appearance.

Conducted emergency escorts/court ordered visitations. These included taking offenders to the hospital to visit seriously ill family members or to the funeral/visitation of a deceased family member.

Some examples of our support for other agencies include:

On several occasions this division has provided commercial prisoner transport vehicles and deputies at the request the Metro police Department during civil disturbances/ potential mass arrest situations.were able to maximize their time in the field serving warrants.
