CJC VISITATION: 
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.What time may I visit?
ANSWER: This depends on the facility that the inmate is housed in. Some facilities have scheduled visitation; CJC does not. At the CJC, visitation time depends on the inmate's housing location. Plus, they will have to be classified to determine their housing location. Once arrested, it takes two to ten days before an inmate is housed for visitation.


2. Is it contact or a window visit?

ANSWER: CJC do not have contact visits other than attorney visits. if an inmate is serving time, he may arrange through his case manager to have a contact visit with minor children only (under 12 yrs. old.) once a month. Answer would be window visits.


3. How many can visit?

ANSWER: Two per visitation.  Yes, infants count as one & must be on list.


4. How do I get on inmates visitation list?

ANSWER: Inmates make their own visitation lists and a family member or friend may call the inmate's case manager and request to be on list if they are not on there.


5.How long may we visit?
ANSWER: 45 MINUTES.


6.Can we wear shorts?

ANSWER: Please do not wear shorts. Cover up as much as possible. Wear sleeves. no low cut blouses, no short skirts and if your clothes are see-through wear underwear.


7.Can I bring medicine, food or a book to give him?

ANSWER: No, they are not allowed to leave inmate anything other than a postal money order.


8. What type of identification will I have to show?

ANSWER:  A valid driver's license or photo ID from the Department of Motor Vehicles.


9. Do I need to be there ahead of time?
ANSWER:
You are required to be here and registered for your visit 15 minutes before visitation time.
