The Davidson County Sheriff's Office Day Reporting Program (DRP) is an alternative to incarceration for low risk offenders. The program offers intensive supervision and case management services, giving selected offenders the opportunity to live and work in the community while addressing the issues that led to criminal charges.

Current services include the following group sessions and classes:  substance abuse treatment, substance abuse education, gender specific programming, relapse prevention, dual recovery, after care, anger management/domestic violence, family in the system (family therapy), employment counseling, GED, criminal thinking, life skills, parenting, domestic training, responsible living, spirituality, tai chi, defensive driving, AA / NA, random drug screens, and curfew calls.  A variety of treatment modalities are incorporated including Rational Emotive Therapy, Experiential, Cognitive Restructuring (cognitive-behavioral), and Reality Therapy.  Offenders are required to pay a monthly supervision fee, pay on their court costs monthly, and pay restitution if so ordered by the court. The program is a maximum of one year in length. After graduation participants are considered alumni and may attend unsupervised aftercare free of charge. If a graduate finds himself or herself in need of more intensive treatment, they may attend regular treatment groups at a low alumni rate.

The DRP staff works closely with the judicial system to provide a structured plan of supervision and treatment. The majority of referrals are made though General Sessions, Juvenile and Circuit Courts. DRP will consider selected offenders from the Criminal Courts.  The Judges decide when an offender can complete the program and when a warrant needs to be signed for his/her arrest for program non-compliance.

DRP operates with a staff of 11 professionals with various credentials, overseeing a capacity of 300 offenders.
