The Davidson County
Sheriff's Office is committed to informing the community of events and
information involving DCSO, its employees, or the inmates housed in DCSO
facilities. This information, in large part, is disseminated through the
Communications Division by the Director of Communications, the Communications
Project Coordinator, and the agency photographer.
The Director of Communications assists news media in covering routine
stories and assists the media at the scenes of major departmental
incidents. The Director of Communications'\ duties include preparing and
distributing Sheriff's Offices news releases, arranging for and
assisting at news conferences, coordinating and authorizing the release
of information concerning Agency investigations and operations,
assisting facilities with media inquiries, and coordinating with
facilities to set up inmate interviews and media access.
The Communications Project Coordinator is responsible for maintaining
both the DCSO’s external website and intranet site, among other duties.
The external website communicates news and information to the public.
The intranet site is the primary method of communication with employees
about DCSO events and news. Additionally, the agency photographer aids
in telling our story by providing photographs and video for the
internet, intranet, and other special projects.
This office is also responsible for coordinating major Sheriff's Office
events for employees, local lawmakers, outside visitors, and other
special occasions that showcase the DCSO and its responsibilities.
Additional duties are assigned to the Communications Division directly by
the Sheriff as needed. |
