Visitation, Mail, and Inmate Account/Money Information
Note: Failure to follow any facility rules will result in the cancellation of inmate’s visit.
Inmate Visitation
- Housing location determines the visitation schedule
- Visit sessions will last for forty-five (45)minutes
- Visit will begin promptly at the scheduled time. No one will be allowed to register late.
- All adult visitors must show proof of ID. (Tennessee Driver’s License or PHOTO State ID)
- Each visitor regardless of age must be on the inmate’s visitation list.
- Inmates are allowed two (2) visitors per visitation session. Visits are made on a first come first serve basis. We are unable to swap visitors.
- All visitors must dress appropriately according to the visitation rules posted in each facility.
Out of State Visits
- The Business Office Supervisor should be contacted to make an appointment prior to visit.
- Visitor must have traveled at least on hundred (100) miles to be classified as an out of town visitor.
- Visitors are permitted two (2) out of town visits in a seven (7) day period.
- The visitor will sign the out of town log in sheet before the visit.
- Visitors must provide official ID that verifies their residence.
- United States Passports are not acceptable as proof of residency.
- If the visitor has traveled more than three hundred (300) miles, visitors may be allowed more than two visits at the supervisor’s discretion.

Items Accepted Through the Mail
- All correspondents must be stamped and mailed through the United States Postal Service
- Legal mail, letters, cards and United States Postal Money Orders.
- Magazines, periodicals, soft back books and Bibles must be mailed directly from a commercial source such as the publisher, internet company or bookstore.
- Only 35mm (millimeter) pictures are allowed. (No nudity or pornographic shots will be allowed)
Items Not Accepted Through the Mail
- Inmate to inmate mail (unless it’s an immediate family member with prior approval).
- Items such as stamps, envelopes, papers, etc. (these items may be purchased through inmate’s commissary)
- Hard back books or Bibles
- No Emergency Packages
Inmate’s Accounts
- Inmate’s account balances cannot be discussed over the telephone
- Inmates cannot release money unless to an attorney or bondsman.
- Only United States postal money orders will be accepted for commissary.
- Money Orders should be mailed or dropped into the black mailbox located in the Criminal Justice Center Lobby. CJC & HDC money orders only. CDC-M, CDC-F and ORC money orders can be dropped off at those locations.
- Effective June 2, 2008 family and friends of inmates housed in a Davidson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) jail can deposit money into an inmate account using three easy ways. The “Touchpay” system allows deposits using kiosks in each jail lobby, toll free by telephone at 1-866-232-1899, or on the internet at http://payments.touchpaydirect.net. Cash can be deposited directly into kiosks, or a check, check card or credit card (Visa or Mastercard only) may be used. The amount deposited will appear on the inmate’s account in real time as soon as the transaction is complete.

Please Note The Following Changes Regarding Visitation:
Out Of Town Visits: Will be conducted between the hours of 8:00Am and 2:00PM
Monday thru Friday. Visits will also be allowed between 3:00PM and 6:00PM at
the discretion of the shift lieutenant/designee.
Regular Visitation: All non-contact visitors will be requested to provide a
photo ID when visiting. If a photo ID is unable to be provided, then two
forms of ID with the visitor’s name on them will be required. All adult
visitors 60 years of age or older will not be required to possess photo
identification; however, some source of identification will be required.
