Sheriff Hall actively supports volunteerism, and many members of the DCSO are involved in volunteer work on their own time, adding that "something extra" to the local communities where they live. Some are long-time volunteers and some have recently discovered how rewarding local volunteering can be.

You might see a DCSO employee working...

  • on the Board of Directors of the Nashville chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill - [ link ]
  • coaching youth soccer
  • mentoring inner city children at the Boys' and Girls' Club of Middle Tennessee - [ link ]
  • on the Board of Directors of the Nashville subchapter of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf - [ link ]
  • coaching youth softball
  • answering the phones for Nashville Public Television - [ link ]

  • teaching rape prevention/self-defense classes
  • delivering stuffed animals to hospitalized children
  • raising money for the Breast Cancer Foundation of Nashville - [ link ]
  • teaching martial arts to children and adults with special needs - [ link ]

As the capitol of the Volunteer State, it's not surprising to find volunteerism alive and well in Nashville, and DCSO members are no exception.

Our hometown pride is showing!
